Certero PowerStudio® Nominated as Finalist in Two categories at the Green IT Awards
The web based enterprise energy optimisation suite, PowerStudio®, has been nominated in the 'Minister of Energy' and the 'Environmental Accounting Product of the Year' category.
Now in their second year, the industry recognised Green IT Awards showcase and reward the technology, tools and solutions as well as the companies and organisations that have made a significant contribution to improving the IT industry's environmental performance over the past 12 months.
The award's organisers selected Certero as an award finalist to acknowledge the role PowerStudio® has played in pro-actively contributing to Green Environmental targets, and how it helps public and private sector organisations to honour their CRC responsibilities effectively. Voting for the Green IT Awards is now open, and closes on Monday 5th May. Winners will be announced at an award ceremony to be held on 19th May at London Zoo.
PowerStudio® has been developed to save energy, reduce co2 and quickly lower electricity bills for PCs, Laptops and Thin Clients. It applied centralised computer power policies to enable organisations to save money, reduce their carbon footprint and prolong the life of their computer equipment. PowerStudio® tackles the problem of energy waste, driven by PCs left switched on overnight, over the weekends and even over holidays. PowerStudio® enabled a UK council to save around 390 tonnes of CO2 annually by powering down PCs when not in use
Demand for Certero's solutions is increasing as public and private sector organisations strive to meet mandatory or voluntary energy saving targets to reduce costs and lower their carbon emissions. To fulfill this demand internationally, Certero has expanded its presence globally and it recently established a local market place and sales operation in Scotland, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand.
