Certero, ‘Environmental Project of the Year’ and ‘Minister of Energy’ Awards

27 August 2010

Green IT Magazine has nominated PC Power Management specialist, Certero, as a finalist in its prestigious Green IT Awards.  This carries great weight for all nominees as the awards will become the benchmark by which IT companies are measured for environmental performance.

Securing a finalist place in two categories, ‘Environmental Project of the Year – Private Sector’ Award and the ‘Minister of Energy’ Award – is a great result for relative newcomer, Certero. If they win the awards they will take their place alongside other outstanding environmental products, suppliers and projects that have made a significant contribution to improving the IT industry’s environmental performance.

With products such as PowerStudio™ and Passworks™, the company has helped numerous companies save money and reduce their carbon footprint in order to work towards to the green computing targets set out by the government.

John Lunt, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Certero, says “To have our hard work recognised is ultimately pleasing.  We focus on improving energy efficiency and reducing carbon dioxide emissions for UK businesses.  Contrary to popular belief this usually saves money. In fact, UK businesses could financially save up to 43% in reduced power consumption, which combined with increasing energy costs and greater environmental awareness, should focus companies to respond to initiatives such as the Carbon Reduction Commitment.”
